In this role, you play a key part in developing and executing supplier and category strategies that strengthen our competitive position. You will balance commercial goals, profitability, and supply chain performance, ensuring the Shop & Workshop assortment meets market needs and delivers value to our customers.
 

Your role

As Category Buyer, you will:

• Negotiate and secure agreements on pricing, terms, and delivery conditions that support competitiveness.

• Develop supplier strategies and maintain an optimized supplier portfolio that meets business requirements.

• Use market & competitor insights to make informed sourcing and assortment decisions.

• Run tenders and evaluate suppliers based on performance, cost, and risk considerations.

• Manage supplier relationships, ensuring continuous improvement and resolving performance issues.

• Support category & business planning, contributing to annual plans, cost-saving initiatives, and category growth goals.

• Ensure regulatory and internal compliance across all supplier collaborations.
   

Your key responsibilities

• Stakeholder Collaboration: Understand and align with stakeholder needs across teams.

• Business & Category Planning: Support strategy development and execution.

• Supplier Management: Build, evaluate, and optimize supplier relationships and performance.

• Sourcing & Negotiation: Lead tenders, negotiate contracts, and analyze cost drivers.

• Assortment & Pricing: Maintain a relevant, competitive, and cost-effective product assortment.

• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for efficiency, quality, and cost reductions.

• Supply Chain Contribution: Ensure supply reliability and enable supply chain performance goals.
   

Who are you?

You bring a mix of strategic thinking, commercial drive, and strong communication skills:

• A completed Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a technical or related field.

• 6+ years of experience in buying, sourcing, or procurement within a technical environment.

• Proven ability to negotiate, influence, and build strong relationships.

• Skilled in planning and prioritization, able to manage multiple tasks and stakeholders.

• Strong business insight, understanding market dynamics and cost drivers.

• A collaborative communicator and listener who resolves challenges constructively.

• A proactive professional who takes ownership and consistently strives for improvement.
