Warehouse Manager

The Warehouse Manager leads fulfilment / warehouse activities, at our location in Varsseveld. These activities include inbound, storage/replenishment, outbound and returns in a fast paced, highly automated with a large amount of SKU’s and rapidly growing distribution centre.

You will lead a team of 4 direct staff and depending on the season approx. 370 fte. The position reports to the Operations Director in the Netherlands, and is part of the local Operations Leadership Team. You will be based in Varsseveld (Gelderland).

The role

In this role you will be accountable for:

  • Consistent people leadership;
  • OTIF and efficiency in the order flow;
  • Manage the triangle between control room, people and maintenance;
  • Manage performance of cost, CX(customer experience) and CI (continuous improvement);
  • High standard of safety and safety culture;
  • Continuous Improvement and lean management not only on processes but also on automation (WMS) and mechanization;
  • Engage in the development and owns the strategic roadmap.

The first-year focus:

  • Professionalize and stabilize a number of core warehouse functions such as ABC management, workforce planning, productivity management, quality management and flow optimization;
  • Provide input and validate the new processes in the "Master Plan 2030";
  • Together with the CI Lead and HSE manager, review policies on safety, well-being and Continuous Improvement and turn them into impact;
  • Increase employee involvement and engagement by introducing clear communication, ownership, feedback and performance improvement.

Who are you?

You have a strong background in e-commerce fulfilment in a highly automated environment with a large variety of SKU’s and fast-paced, changing environment.

You will drive performance, think and act as an entrepreneur.

Furthermore you have:

  • Completed Master degree or equivalent level (in supply chain, logistics, manufacturing, engineering, business administration);
  • e-Commerce fulfilment experience in the wholesale, retail and/or consumer goods business;
  • Experience in a hybrid warehouse environment with various order picking processes and large volumes;
  • Technical skills in warehouse mechanization, systems and automation (WMS);
  • Excellent project and change management;
  • A strong track record in lean and continuous improvement;
  • Proven ownership of responsibilities on both tactical and operational level;
  • Excellent people skills on all levels.
