As an Analytics Engineer, you play a critical role in transforming raw data into clean, reliable, and business-ready insights. You serve as the essential link between data engineers and business analysts - combining deep technical expertise with strong business acumen. Your work ensures that our data warehouse is not only technically sound but also accessible, well-modeled, and aligned with business needs. You will design scalable data models, implement software engineering best practices (including version control, CI/CD, and testing), and contribute to data governance efforts. You will help manage structured and unstructured data, enabling consistent, accurate, and timely reporting and analytics across the organization.
Tech Stack: dbt | Google BigQuery / SQL | Tableau (occasionally) | Python (occasionally)
Your team. You’ll join a dynamic department (AI&T) of ~30 professionals, including project managers, solution builders, and business experts - all working together to accelerate growth across Commerce and Operations.
Within the Analytics & BI (ABI) team (9 professionals), we support:
📊 600+ business users with interactive dashboards and self-service tools
🔎 30 analysts with curated, well-modeled datasets
🤖 A data science team leveraging data for advanced modeling and prediction
This position is based in Varsseveld&Utrecht and is focused on serving our Operations stakeholders, working with systems such as TMS, WMS, and ERP. With a major ERP migration on the horizon, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our data landscape.
Your mission:
🤝 Partner closely with both business and IT stakeholders - understand underlying needs and translate them into scalable data solutions
🔍 Navigate and integrate complex source systems across multiple countries and domains
🚀 Design, build, and maintain high-quality, reliable data pipelines to support analytics and decision-making at scale
🛠️ Lead the preparation and execution of our transition to a modern, future-proof data warehouse

Key technical skills:
SQL Mastery & Data Modeling Expertise. Deep experience in SQL and modeling principles (Kimball, DataVault), and ability to select the best approach based on business needs.
Data Pipeline Development in dbt. Proven experience building and maintaining data pipelines using dbt on Google BigQuery or equivalent platforms.
Cloud Environment Experience. Hands-on experience in cloud-based data stacks—ideally Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or AWS.
CI/CD & Version Control. Comfortable working with git, and experienced in using CI/CD workflows for deploying analytics solutions.
Bonus:
- Visualization & Self-Service Enablement. Proficient in Tableau or similar tools (PowerBI, Looker), with experience enabling self-service analytics and delivering compelling dashboards.
- Bonus: Python Knowledge. Ability to write basic data transformation scripts in Python is a plus.
